Infiltration

You have until June 5th to steal Madarame's treasure! You cannot complete this Palace in a single day as it requires you to leave at two points for the story, so at least three days in a row are needed. Because of this, you can infiltrate the Palace for the first time no later than May 31st, return on June 1st, again on June 2nd, send the calling card on June 3rd, and steal his heart on June 4th.

Museum Entrance

Just like last time, make your way into the museum across the gardens and through the roof.

SP Exhibition Room

As you make your way into the adjacent room, you'll notice that there are now lasers blocking your path! While going through them won't hurt, it will increase the awareness levels of the Palace.

If you see a green light on the bottom, that means there's no laser there so you can slide under. If you see green lights up the upper two sides, then you can jump over it. Hit X to do so.

Make your way over to the main lobby, but watch out for the Shadows and lasers. There are a lot of them now, including two in the lobby. Head past the lobby and the giant golden statue into the next area.

1st Exhibition Room

This area is a bit like a maze of paintings and Shadows, so make sure you save in the safe room. Make your way through the gallery until you get to the exit. However, before heading north, head through the doors to the south and unlock the doors near the safe room in case you need a quicker way through. Then, head north and up the stairs into the next area.

2nd Exhibition Room

Right away, you'll see a door that you cannot open due to it being locked. Go past it to the right/east instead and past the golden vase, though you can inspect it.

Unfortunately, Mona doesn't have your self-restraint. He's tripped the security and it's up to you, and you alone, to turn off the laser grid.

First, go to the south-east side of the room and climb up the box that has green metal gate on it and then up to the ledge above. There's a Shadow in the area below that you'll probably want to get rid of and it should only have one weak enemy.

Once on the ground below, you'll want to inspect the southern wall because there's a red switch on it. Hit the switch and Panther will be free. Regroup with her and continue on.

Climb back up to the ledge you were on before and make your way around to the other side of the room. This time, the switch is behind a large painting on the north-east wall. Interact with the painting to reveal the switch and hit it. Regroup with Skull and continue on.

This time, you'll want to head through a small ventilation shaft in the northern wall. Head through it and you'll get into the control room where you can shut off the laser grid via the laptop by the window.

Unfortunately, you first need a password. This will be a staple of this Palace that makes it different from Kamoshida's Castle and the Palaces to come. Head out of the room via the main doors and towards the Shadows. Listen in and you'll discover that the password is "HELLO" spelt upside-down with numbers (07734). Go back to the laptop and turn off the laser grid. Head back to Mona.

The vase was actually containing a very valuable Shadow! Unfortunately, it resists just about everything and is very hard to defeat or capture. There is one Treasure Demon for every arcana (except World).

Once you've either defeated it, captured it, or it's fled, continue on down the path into the next room. Since lasers are blocking the way, you'll have to climb up through the opening in the wall.

Don't worry! The floor below is just a visual trick that some artists use. Jump down and watch out for the Shadow.

There's a breakable object in the north bathroom and a locked treasure chest in the south, but otherwise, keep heading north and make sure to get the safe room!

As you progress, you'll come across a few Shadows and a stairwell that leads up to two small areas. If you want the loot, go up there, but the main path lies forward.

Once you enter the next room, you'll quickly be trapped by electric gates and Shadows will spawn into the room. If you want, you can deal with the Shadows, but your goal is actually a crooked painting. It's in the middle column of paintings in the top row on the north-west side of the pillar when looking at your minimap. There is a red button behind it that turns off the electric gates. Head through the door and into the next area.

Central Garden

Head into the gardens and you'll quickly come to an impasse. Go to the safe room nearby and call it for the day if you're ready to do so. You at about the halfway point.

When back outside, you'll discuss how to bypass the block and Morgana will provide the way. Come back into the Palace another day to continue.

Joker and Skull vs. Madarame's Museum!

Central Garden

Ann's job is to distract Yusuke while Morgana tries to break into that locked room. You and Skull, meanwhile, have to be ready to get in in case the door closes.

Treasure Hall Lounge

Get inside the the Treasure Hall Lounge and take on the powerful Shadow guarding the main room. This giant beast will try to confuse you and Ryuji with its Skull Cracker melee skill, so try and make sure you drop its accuracy or boost your evasion. It also uses Curse attacks. It resists Ice and Curse, but it has a low critical hit resistance against guns and melee attacks. It's also weak to Fire, so be sure to exploit that.

Once it's down, head into the security room on the left/to the west of where the Shadow just was so that you can permanently turn off the security measures via a computer in the room. Once it's down, you'll automatically head out to check, just as Mona and Panther are dropping in...with Yusuke!

You can't progress with a defenceless person, so you need to head back to the lobby of the museum. as you make your way through, Yusuke will make notable comments on what he sees. It's hard to deny reality when you're forced to face it.

Follow the paths you're put on and you'll quickly get back to the room with the large golden statue, only to be blocked by Shadows, including Shadow Madarame. Yusuke is subjected to every harsh truth he'd so long rejected and hid away from, truths that he let himself suffer rather than rebel against...

...but not anymore.

Persona!

Yusuke has awoken the rebel spirit within his heart and accepted his Persona: Goemon! It's time to fight.

The smaller Shadows are weak to Yusuke's Ice attacks while the bigger one resists Panther's Fire. For the Embittered Blacksmith, you'll have to just keep up a steady onslaught to take it down.

That was a lot for Yusuke, so you're going to have to call it for a day.

The Team is Back Together!

Treasure Hall Lounge

Now that you're back with Yusuke, continue from where you left off. There will be two Shadows in the Treasure Hall Lounge, but past them in the next page that you'll automatically be notified about. Pick it up to get more intel.

Past it to the west is a locked treasure chest, but your destination is all the way down the east hall. You'll see a whole hall of trip lasers that aren't active, but getting close to them will show you that they are. Thus, there's only one way to go, that that's into the next room to the left.

There will be two Shadows and a treasure chest in that room as well as a door leading to where you want to go.

In the next room, the path to the east is blocked by more lasers, so you have to go west into the larger room. It, too, has a lot of lasers in it, but you can walk between them, but over them, and slide under them to get around. Watch out for the Shadows!

While this room might seem like a dead end at first, you have to remember that you're in a cognition, not in real life. Go up to the giant paintings on the north wall and you'll trigger and interaction. You can actually travel through these paintings into other paintings! Go inside and go to the left until you can get out of the second painting.

advertisem*nt

Then, enter the ventilation duct and move through it to the other side. You'll land in a room with a treasure chest, a locked door, and a Shadow. Unlock the door with the blue button so that you can quickly come to a fro from that location.

Eventually, though, you'll have to face off against that strong Shadow. It blocks Curse and Physical skills and can make members of your party enrage. Try dropping its defence so that other damaging skills can take it down efficiently while also making sure to remove Rage from your party members.

Defeating that enemy will give you your first Skill Card: Media! Skill Cards can be used to instantly teach your Persona the designated skill, but they can only be used once each, so use them well.

Head into the control room and access the computer. You need another password. To get this one, head back the way you can and through the doors that were previously locked (if you didn't unlock it yet, do it now). Head through those doors and move towards the Shadows down the hall.

The password this time is the number of Lord Madarame's feet (the answer is not two). You actually need to head back to that golden statue from before and read the plaque. The password, as Yusuke cleverly points out, is 1120. Head back to the control room and punch in the code.

Now that everything is clear, head to the far east side of the area and make sure to save in the safe room!

Treasure Hall Gallery

When you're in the treasure hall, head left/north to get started on the puzzle.

Jump down to and then into the desert painting and then head to the right. In the Mt Fuji painting, head through the centre. The right side will take you back to the desert at this point. When you get into the jungle cave one, get out of the painting from the right of it and activate the button on the scaffolding to activate a new painting. Hop back into the jungle painting and then climb up the rock face in it and move to the back.

You'll be back in the desert, so you want to get to Mt Fuji once more. From there, head right into the new painting of the raging sea. Do not go towards the Kraken! It will knock you out of the painting to the floor below and it will spawn in more enemies. Instead, jump out of the painting on your own accord and hit the button on that scaffolding to open up another painting. Jump down off the ledge to the desert painting's scaffolding and jump back in.

advertisem*nt

From the desert go to Mt Fuji, then through the centre of Mt Fuji to the forest, and climb up the forest rocks to get to the new painting. From there, head to the right side of the painting and jump out! Head on over to the next room.

There will be a number of Shadows and a treasure chest in this room but you'll want to keep pressing on to get to your destination. In the next room, there will be bathrooms. The north one should have a treasure chest in it. The door to the next area will also be there.

???

For the first path, follow it along and make your way to the only blue door you can reach. Repeat the process by heading to the next lower blue door and you'll find yourself in an area of the room with two paintings. This puzzle of this room is to always select the true Sayuri. Going through a door before choosing will simply take you back to the start of this area of the room.

Go up to the painting of the woman in red and choose it as the real one to progress. Then, head through the archway it makes golden. For this next area, the real painting is the third one out of the four, counting from left to right. Once again, head through the golden archway.

You'll first see four paintings, but they're all fakes. Keep moving on. You'll see two more, but keep going! Jump down the ledge and walk past the blue archway and select the Sayuri at the bottom of the steps. It has the tree branch, hair over the shoulder, and is wearing red.

Once you've selected it, go through the blue archway and then down the steps to the now golden one. Grab the chest before you head on into the next area.

Main Treasure Hall

Head into the treasure hall and over to where the exclamation point is to see what Shadow Madarame is doing. After the cutscene and discussion, head to the west and check into the safe room.

From there, head down the hall from the safe room into the control room. Check out the computer and test out the different options it provides. Once you've tested all three, get ready to be jumped by a Shadow! It's nothing you haven't faced before, though.

Head down the path and through to where the gate lifted from. There are a lot of Shadows up this way, so prepare yourself for each fight well. Thankfully, though, you'll reach another safe room up the ramps. Head into it before carrying on. Then, head through the door just by it.

advertisem*nt

In that room, look around and then head up where the ladder is to get a good look at the treasure. Then, head back into the room and check out the red lever on the wall. Once you've done that, you're good to go and prepare the calling card!

Send the Calling Card!

Gather the team and send it when you're ready. This time, Yusuke will be handling the artistry of it, thankfully. Hopefully, he can come up with something better than Ryuji's doodle.

Remember, once you send the card, you have to steal Madarame's treasure the next day.

Steal Madarame's Heart!

Once the card is sent, it's time to make Madarame confess for what he's done. Go into his Palace and do what you do best.

Once you've got the painting, run! Jump out the window just near to where you are and climb down the side of the museum until you get to a red archway. Head through it!

Madarame as a boss is quite unique. He comes in four parts. Literally.

The paintings that make up the boss have different weaknesses and resistances. They also use different attacks.

Focusing on the eyes first will take away a main attack as well as the very important support enemy. The left eye will both support the other paintings as well as lower your team's stats. We suggest you focus on the eyes, then the nose, and then the mouth.

After taking them all out once, you'll be able to attack Madarame. After a bit, though, he'll bring back the paintings. They'll have less than full health, but this time around they can revive each other, so your goal is to bring all four pieces down to 1HP, which the game allows you to do. In other words, rather than killing a piece, the lowest it can get to is 1HP before it requires another hit to die, even if it should have died from said attack. Use that to your advantage. When revived, though are only revived with half of their health.

A main attack of this fight used by Madarame in his paintings form is that he can paint over one party member, making them weak to every affinity (elements and such). However, you can use this back on him, too! After taking down the paintings for the second time, you'll get the option to send one of your teammates to tamper with the technology nearby. Don't send Yusuke since he's more likely to be noticed by Madarame. Keep a healer with you, so it's best to send Ryuji, or Ann if you don't have him with you. Remember to keep attacking during this or Madarame will notice whomever you sent!

Even though painting over the enemy will make them weak to everything, it will not take away what they drain, so you still have to attack them with the same types of skills.

The Aftermath

Take the treasure from the deviant artist and let him atone for what he has committed. Another job well done for the Phantom Thieves. Head back to the real world and rest up until the deadline.
