ESCALON TIMES, Wednesday, September 21, 1983 Bollema vows said in Escalon The Christian Reformed Church in Escalon was the setting for the Aug. 26 wedding of Colleen Van Vliet and Darryl Bollema. Pastor Merle Bierma performed the ceremony. Colleen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Jake Van Vliet of Oakdale. The bridegroom is the son of the late Jacob Bollema and Mrs. Jacob Bollema of Ontario. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a white organza gown designed with a scalloped neckline, bishop's sleeves and a bodice of embroidered Alencon lace accented with a shower of white pearls. The gown featured a ruffled organza cathedral train.
The bride's cathedrallength veil was secured to a tilted hat showered with pearls and sequins and she carried a free-form cascade bouquet of white dendrobium, orchids, stephanotis, white roses, maidenhair, fern and string of pearls. Jackie Bollema served as matron of honor for her cousin and Cindy Doek acted as maid of honor. They wore yellow and blue printed organza gowns with yellow taffeta lining. The gowns were designed with drop shoulder and bouffant pick-up skirts. The bride's sisters-inlaw, Lori and Sandy Van Vliet, and the bridegroom's sister, Sheila Bollema were selected as bridesmaids.
Their gowns were in a blue and yellow-print in the same style as the the honor attendant's. All attendants carried crescent bouquets of yellow miniature carnations, yellow roses and blue belladonna. Carla Jean Van Vliet and Lynette Van Gorkum were candlelighters and Joey Van Vliet served as ring bearer. Judy and Jody Sudenga were flower girls and Dana de Kruft distributed programs. Harold Bollema stood as best man for his brother.
Ushers' duties were performed by Rob Vanden Berg, Greg Troost, Jeff Haga, the bride's cousin, Rick Van Vliet and the bride's brothers, Dave, Jake, Jim and Don Van Vliet. Gary Vian Vians recite vows Newlyweds Nellie and Gary Vian are at home in San Luis Obispo following a honeymoon in Disneyland. The former Miss Goedhart became Mrs. Vian in a Sept. 10 ceremony at the Community Christian Reformed Church in Oakdale. She is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Sam Goedhart of Escalon. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Vian, also of Escalon, are the parents of the bridegroom.
For her wedding the bride chose a lace gown accented with pearls and designed with a U-shaped neckline and chapel-length train. She carried a bouquet of roses. Her attendants were her sister, Betty Vierra, who was matron of honor, and bridesmaids Tanya Voelker and Rena de Visser, her other sisters, and sisters-in-law, Linda and Ava Goedhart, who also served as candlelighters. Teddy Vierra, a nephew, and Marianne Vierra, a niece, were ring bearer and flower girl. Lee Vian performed best man's duties for his brother.
